DOT Physical Exam in Overland Park, KS $75

Driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) is an important aspect of many jobs, even those outside of the traditional semi-truck driving industry. Additionally, there is an increasing need for drivers that is projected to continue. So, to make sure drivers are healthy and able to drive these vehicles, a physical exam is required. A physical exam must be completed at least once every other year. A DOT physical is required by the Department of Transportation (DOT), mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This is a great safety check for the driver, your company, and everyone else on the road.

A DOT Physical provides drivers with a medical certificate to confirm that they're physically able to safely operate a CMV. We will conduct a thorough physical to determine a driver's ability to safely operate a CMV. In order to give the ‘green light’, we take a look at the following areas:

- Overall Physical Evaluation
- Vision & Hearing Test
- Vitals
- Urinalysis

FMCSA requires that DOT physicals be performed by a certified medical examiner (CME) listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. Aculas is home to two experienced CMEs. We perform DOT physicals regularly and work closely with individuals as well as employers to ensure a smooth process.

Any person who holds a CDL, for intrastate or interstate commerce, is required to participate in a DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. This program is called a consortium which randomly selects drivers from a pool to be drug and alcohol tested.

Owner-operators must also register with a consortium and participate in the random drug and alcohol testing pool. Do you need to get established with a consortium but are unsure where to start? We would be happy to help. Ask us how to be part of our consortium!
